A Special Delivery for Ausway Transport – Highway to Heaven

Our team have been extremely privileged to be involved in some incredible truck builds and a recent delivery to Ausway Transport was one that we will definitely remember.

Following a devastating loss for the family, the Sooch family, owners of Ausway Transport, made the heartfelt decision in 2024 to build a Kenworth T909 in memory of Gurdev S. Sooch.

The whole Melbourne North Truck Centre team were committed to ensuring this T909 would truly honour Gurdev’s life and legacy and were extremely proud to be entrusted with such a special project.

“This just isn’t your everyday truck, this has sentimental value. Gurdev S Sooch’s legacy lives on in style”, said Marty Hinkley, Melbourne North Truck Centre Branch Manager.

“Having a strong bond between a grandfather and his family is something very close to my heart, we are very honoured to be able to play a part in this legacy”.

Outside of the T909, the stunning signwriting and designs to remember Gurdev were completed through Royans Australia and paint was by Stoneage Signs. The final touches were completed with special airbrush artwork by Just Trucks on the back of the T909’s cab.

Inside, the T909 includes all the comforts of home including a 50L upright fridge, Smart TV, microwave, soundbar and diesel A/C, all fitted by Custom Air. The stereo system was completed by Elite Tracking, UHF installed by Waldron Communications and custom seat covers, floor mats, gear stick cover and full tank end cover were provided by Elite Tyre.

This beauty also features JOST Australia turntables, greasing system by Alemlube, bumper by Kentweld and driving lights by Hella.

Most of the fit out on this T909 is fully custom, completed by Klos Custom Trucks in collaboration with Bobby Sooch. Bobby worked closely with the Klos team to design the exterior to include an impressive array of custom features to make this rig stand out, including:

• Custom Kenworth Bug
• Stainless steel exhausts
• Hinged painted deck plates
• Sunvisor
• Front grille
• Drive guards
• Rear taillight bar
• Sleeper skirts
• Toolbox covers
• And other fit outs.

Powered by the Cummins X15 engine paired with an Eaton gearbox, this Kenworth T909 features countless accents and details that respectfully commemorate the history and significance of this exceptional truck.
